I like where you're headed with this. I've checked two of my servers that have x64 on them, both of them do not have the ntprint. I did try this trick copying the folder from a x64 server, but that didn't work. Any follow up? Oh, gotcha.. I must've selectively read that part; unfortunately, I don't think this solution is applicable to pre Throe Throe 11 1 1 bronze badge. Sign up or log in Sign up using Google. Sign up using Facebook.

Unfortunately this method failed from both the x64 server and from a x86 server trying to add drivers by network.

Windows told me it couldn't find the correct drivers for my printers any of them. I felt like I was standing there, stuck in the mud with my only option to get out was to pull on my own bootstraps. I followed the steps in the Xerox guide and it worked like a champ.

The only thing I can suggest, and I may have misunderstood in your last post, but the ntprint. It's not a printer driver as much as a OS file to be able to communicate with x86 printer drivers. Bottom line is you need this file and the manufacturer's print driver as well. So, download the x86 drivers from the manufactuerer's site. On the properties of the x64 printer in question, click on the sharing tab I suppose you can do it through Print Management too When you get the message "Please Provide path to Windows media x86 processor ", you browse to that ntprint.

But at least the first one worked I may see the light on the end of the horizon. Got things working!! I re-added the x64 driver, and then the x86 driver right after and it performed as expected. Thanks xerox! I read your original post on my cell phone when I was away from my desk. I got back and started to reply and was going to add some screen shots of what I see when I go through this process.

Really poor design process by MS though. After removing the print services role and adding it again not as part of this issue, but for other reasons I was able to add the x86 print drivers without all the hassle that the first time around gave me.

Thanks for your post here. The second method of installing the x86 print driver onto the server from a 32 bit client worked for me. I have to agree with ImbaAdmin. It seems my issue was in the drivers inside the Print server I checked, and there was a driver version mismatch. I fixed this, and the problem resolved itself as I had already manually installed the x86 driver ;. The best is not to use the Windows delivered drivers and to download the drivers from the vendors website.

Was having same issue.
